I am going back to black
As far as I remember, I have always been fascinated with Black. I also have always considered it the most intriguing, complex, and rich color there is because it allows us to pay attention to abstraction, to what is beyond color, and texture, and to the concept of darkness.
Darkness is basically the opposite condition of light. It is about absorption, absorbing almost every color of the white spectrum, reflecting through just a limited amount and that is why we are seeing some of its lighter parts.
At what point is it ”Black” ?
With the invention and capabilities of synthetic dyes, our understanding of black as a color has shifted, expecting it to be as deep, and “pure” as possible. But, it has not always been the case and it got me questioning at what point a color is dark enough to be considered “black”.
